John Xintavelonis
John was born and lives in Tasmania. He started doing shows for Big Monkey/Theatre Alfresco in 1994 and has performed in productions and corporate events since 1987. During that time has enjoyed a career around the country and touring Asia.
Some of his professional theatre credits include Threepenny Opera for STC/Malthouse/Vic Opera, Boy From Oz for The Production Company, Jekyll & Hyde for TML, Billy Elliot The Musical for Working title/Universal and The Lion King for Disney Theatrical, Cosi, Comedy of Errors and Alice in Wonderland for Zootango.
His television credits include Dance Academy for ABC, City Homicide for Seven Network and Jon Safran’s Race Relations for ABC.
John’s voice can also be heard in the films Legend of the Guardians, Australia, Mao’s Last Dancer, Day Breakers, Two Fists One Heart and in television episodes of Wild Boys, Slide, Cleo, Scorched, False Witness and Rescue Special Ops.
John is co-founder of Big Monkey, Blue Cow Theatre (Hobart’s own independent actors company) and Bawdy Pantos, Hobart’s annual grown-up pantomime. He has been a proud member of actors equity since 1994.
