Once a Jolly Jumbuck

Announcing Big Monkey’s next production at the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens!  Once a Jolly Jumbuck is an adaptation of Les Winspear’s original production of Chaos at Cooee Creek.

When drought hits Cooee Creek, the lives of the local animals are thrown into chaos. If they don’t get a fresh supply of water soon they’ll have to leave their beloved home. Matilda the Sheep turns up with a solution and Professor Platypus knows a thing or two but Crow and Brown Snake are lurking, ready to ruin everyone’s plans.

Come and enjoy the fun with Cocky, Bilby and all their friends in this delightful, truly Australian adventure full of laughs and original songs. An original story by Les Winspear.

Season dates:

School Season from November 19th to December 15th 2009.

    Hey, I was present for the Gala performance, and it’s a hoot! Performed in three location sets in the the lovely Botanical Gardens, the topical theme of drought underlies a delightful Aussie story with humour and lively theatrics that engaged with all ages.
